Laptop

A portable computer that uses specialised hardware parts making them far more difficult to upgrade and repair.

Furthermore, due to their integrated parts, if one component breaks it can often spell the end for the entire device as a whole.

I have a few laptops that are in good conditions, but are useless because the monitor has dead pixels or the keyboard doesn't work anymore, etc

Right now, I use the ThinkPad E545, it's pretty good but I don't like how the CTRL button is one key away from the far left corner, which is atypical of keyboards

Winning Move

It's often said on technologically-orientated communities the old laptops were better, because they were more durable compared to modern day counterparts. On the other hand, such laptops can be rather slow for today's usage.

Owners of old but reliable laptops might want to consider installing Linux, and upgrading the specifications of their laptop to the maximum hardware limit such as upgrading RAM, CPU, replacing the HDD to SSD, etc.
